Catechesis
Preschool through Grade 8 Catechesis
Our Sunday morning religious education program is for preschool children through 8th grade. The age specific groups meet on Sunday mornings after 9:00AM Mass from 10:15AM until 11:15AM. During the one-hour session each Sunday, your child(ren) will have the Gospel lessons explained to them at their individual age level(s) and will learn the foundations of the Catholic faith.
Please note: Children enrolled in this program must be baptized and a copy of their baptismal certificate must be on file in the Parish Office. If your child is not baptized and you would like to get them baptized, please contact the Parish Office for more information about how to do so.
High School Catechesis
Our high school youth catechesis program will consist of two sessions each month, plus some reading at home to prepare for the second session of the month. The sessions are held on Sunday mornings after the 9:00am Mass. Lesson materials will be given out in September.
Sacramental Preparation
1st Reconciliation/1st Communion Preparation
To begin the preparation for 1st Reconciliation/1st Communion, two years of catechesis is required. 1st Reconciliation/1st Communion preparation begins in September. Children ages 7 and older who have completed two years of catechesis (or home school catechesis) are welcome. Parents are required to attend all preparation sessions with their child(ren).
Please note: Children enrolled in 1st Reconciliation/1st Communion preparation are also required to enroll in and attend our Sunday Morning Preschool through 8th Grade Catechesis Program.
Confirmation
To begin the preparation for youth Confirmation, two years of high school catechesis are required. Youth Confirmation candidates must be 16 years old at the time of Confirmation. Youth Confirmation preparation begins in September and ends with the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation with our cluster parishes during the Easter Season.
Please note: Children enrolled in Confirmation preparation are also required to enroll in and attend our High School Catechesis Program.
